Senses
Your mind and your senses are closely tied together. You rely on your senses to tell you about the environment around you. But most of the time you take them for granted. Unless something looks unusual, smells funny or feels wrong, you're likely to ignore some or all of your senses in everyday life. Stretch your brain by taking a journey of the senses.

Try to include more of your senses in ordinary tasks. Get dressed with your eyes closed. Share a meal using only visual cues to communicate--don't talk.
Have a sense of the day. For the entire day, concentrate on what you hear. Listen for new sounds. Explore the limits of hearing--how faint a sound or voice can you hear? What sounds annoy you? What sounds do you enjoy? Do the same exercise with your sight, or your sense of smell.
Combine your senses. Listen to the rain and smell flowers. Watch clouds and draw at the same time. Listen to classical music while you eat. Think about commonalities between the senses as you use more than one at the same time.
