Organize!
It's tough to stretch your brain if it keeps bumping into things. You'll never consistently expand your thinking if you living a completely disorganized life. Take time to get things organized, so you have time to think of new and interesting ideas, instead of trying to remember where you put your keys. Just the action of getting organized will bring new thoughts.
Everything in its place. Take the items you use regularly and have a place for them. Wallet and keys on the dresser. Remote control on the end table. Checkbook in the top drawer. Shoes by the door, socks in the chest, shirts in the closet.
Clean. Clean your desk, your bedroom, your bathroom. Open the drawers you seldom open and clean them out. Don't be such a pack rat. If you haven't used it in 6 months or a year, consider tossing it out.
Calendar. Got your day planned? How about tomorrow? If you're idea of planning ahead is setting your alarm clock a half-hour early, get a calendar, a day-timer or some other tool to organize your days.
Go camping. Here's a neat organizational trick--try going camping. Think and plan it out. What do you really need? What can you leave at home? Then while you're camping, take note of the things you're getting away from and what you can do without. Camping is an interesting experience in minimizing your life and enjoying God's creation.
