Aligning Dreaming Planning Organizing Serving Celebrating Learning Ministry Communicorps
The mission of a church Communications Ministry is to support the church by using media tools, technology and volunteer manpower to creatively and powerfully present opportunities for ministry to our members and the greater community.

Communication in a church environment is a little different than "advertising" or "public relations" would be to a business. There are six basic areas where communications works to make an impact for Christ.

Intention is required before any communication can take place, as we first align our ministry to God's Word, conforming our efforts to His plan and purpose for the church.

Imagination is the generation of ideas for ministry. As we think and dream, we provide ministries with hundreds of alternatives, from which the best course of action may emerge.

Innovation is presenting ideas in fresh, new ways. It's finding a different approach, planning an original angle. When we are innovative in our communication, we cause people to take notice. All communication competes for attention--innovation is the means by which we capture the attention of our audience.

Integration is making the whole greater than the sum of the parts. When we organize all the means at our disposal--print, web, broadcast, video, word-of-mouth, displays and more--to communicate, we not only reach a broad audience, but we can also connect ideas and ministries in ways we never thought possible.

Involvement is people of all ages and with a myriad of talents working to communicate the message of our church through all means possible. When we are serving in ministry, we can do more than "read from the script." We can communicate from personal experience the Truth as a heartfelt and meaningful message.

Inspiration is the Christ-honoring value of communications ministry. As we capture and tell the stories of what God is doing in and through the lives of people, we point others to His work, celebrate His love and grace, and have a role in sharing His story (the Gospel) with our community, city and world.
